A Behind the Scenes Look at the Scenic Design by Duma Du

Every quarter, the students from the University of Washington School of Drama delivers a different story. Described as “an ingenious dark comedy that subverts the tropes of the 19th-century Gothic romance,” The Moors, is a thrilling story of Black artist meeting her hero and the struggles of being a black woman in a Eurocentric society.

”I wish my design enhances the whole story, brings visual enjoyment to the audience, and helps the audience enter and understand the plot” Duma Du, the scenic designer of the play shares her goals for the show, despite of the tight budget her department have received this quarter’s play.
